Spray Foam

Spray Foam

Spray foam insulation is generally recognised as one of the most versatile and adaptable insulation materials available on the market in Ireland today. Famed for its ability to fill every nook and cranny when sprayed on site, spray foam is also long lasting and of course airtight.

Dungarvan Insulation uses NSAI approved spray foam insulation and are trained to use our unique CPI approved breathable vent card system. There are two main types of spray foam insulation, Open cell and Closed cell spray foam.

We use CPI spray foam products are CE marked and comply with the Harmonized European Standard EN: 14315-1 and European Construction Products Regulation 305/2011.

CPI Open Cell Spray Foam

Open Cell Spray Foam

Open Cell Spray Foam

CPI open cell spray foam. Air is allowed to slowly flow through the cells for better ventilation, due to its permeability allowing it to 'breathe'. This type spray foam is used where ventilated insulation is required, allowing vapour to escape yet minimising wind movement as it expands up to 200 times the size when applied to an area.

Open-cell foam are not used exterior applications, they are cost effective per unit of U-value without providing structural contribution to a building that closed-cell foams offer.

It is used for attic insulation, wall cavities and domestic insulation in the home mainly. Open Cell Spray Foam offers excellent acoustic properties and is a good type insulation for soundproofing and noise reduction. Open cell foam is a quality thermal insulation that will not sag or rot and needs no maintenance.

Closed Cell Spray Foam

Closed Cell Spray Foam

Closed Cell Foam is a strong and rigid spray insulation solution containing small pockets of gas that makes it very difficult for hot air or cold air to pass through it. It has a higher insulating value than open cell foam and creates a resistant barrier against water, vapor and the elements.

Due to its cell structure, closed cell foam has a low vapor permeance and may be considered a vapor retarder depending on the thickness and is used in exterior spray foam insulation applications.

Commercial spray foam usually use closed cell spray foam for industrial buildings, roofs and exterior insulation, giving a perfect seal against any problems such like draughts, moisture and rotting.
